How to use Low Power Mode on Apple Watch. The battery life of Apple’s regular Apple Watch models is one feature that never changes.

What functions are disabled by Low Power Mode?

The purpose of a low-power mode, whether it be on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, is obviously to deactivate certain functions in order to increase battery life.

Although Apple tries to offer as much functionality as possible in Low Power mode.

The Apple Watch suffers as a result, with several important functionalities being disabled.

When Low Power mode is on on the Apple Watch, Apple does explain what it’s doing to allow the extended battery life.

But in case you missed it or you’re just interested, it performs the following:

  • Disables the blood oxygen monitor, the always-on display, the heart rate monitoring (including notifications for abnormal rhythm), and the workout start reminders.
  • Every hour, app notifications are sent.
  • Call notifications are disabled
  • Wi-Fi and Cellular are disabled
  • Making calls can take longer
  • Fewer background app refreshes occur.
  • Watch complications refresh less frequently
  • Siri can take longer to process requests
  • Possible stutter in animations and when scrolling

It’s important to note that metrics like heart rate and speed are still taken while using the Workout app to monitor an exercise when Low Power Mode is enabled.

How to enable Low Power Mode on an Apple Watch:

Go to Control Centre:

First to open the Control Center on your Apple Watch, swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Battery icon:

Then tap the battery percentage icon

Enable mode low power:

Then toggle the Low Power switch.

Choose for how long:

Turn on Low Power Mode on Apple Watch

Then tap “Turn on” after scrolling to the explainer’s bottom.

Tip: When your Watch reaches 80% charge automatically shuts off, but if you wish to use it for longer, you may press Turn on For… to activate Mode Low Power for 1, 2, or 3 days.

How long will Low Power be active on my Apple Watch?

The typical battery life of an Apple Watch may be virtually doubled by using  Low Power, going from 18 hours to up to 36 hours.

That’s great, its battery life is increased from the typical 36 hours to a stunning 60 hours, which is where it truly shines.
